5 Sunday roast offers in Hoole

Sunday is the day of the week when you don’t need to feel guilty about not bothering to cook. And boy, are those in Hoole in luck! Being a Hoolite (or a Hooligan, whichever) means you have the pick of the bunch come Sunday: this little neck of the woods has some pretty dapper deals for dinner. Not only do they come with raving reviews but they also vary in style and substance which means you have a sassy selection right at your door step.

Check them out:

Lodge Bar – Sunday roast: £8.95
The Sunday roast in the Lodge is the stuff of legends, and it’s highly recommended you book yours in advance to avoid going hungry. These bad boys fly out. You have a selection of beef, pork or chicken, coming with all the trimmings and a healthy lathering of gravy. And don’t forget, the Lodge serves a selection of brilliant beers to go with your dinner for very little coin considering the quality.

Suburbs Eaterie – Sunday roast: from £12.50
A good roast cures whatever ills you and it can fuel you for a whole day of idle enjoyment, which is what Sundays should really be all about. To accompany the famously enormous Yorkshire puddings there’s a selection of meat (a veggie option is available as well) and a mountain of trimmings. The Suburbs nowadays have a small but agreeable selection of craft beers to go with the main event too, and then there’s always the steins…

The Faulkner – Sunday Roast: from £11.50
Boutique-style pub Faulkner serves a superb Sunday roast with a choice of locally sourced beef topside, pork shoulder, chicken breast or shoulder of lamb. You can also expect all the trimmings, lashings of rich gravy and if the mood takes you, some pretty banging drinks. The Faulkner has a killer wine menu and they make a pretty mean Bloody Mary in case you’re suffering somewhat from the night before.

Sticky Walnut – 2 courses for £20, 3 courses £25
If traditional Sunday roast is not your bag, award-winning neighbourhood restaurant Sticky will serve you right. Sticky has a weekly changing set menu where you can choose from five different items for your starter, main and dessert, and they have a few extra side order items on offer too in case you want to bulk up your Sunday serving. And don’t worry, you can still opt for a roast meat with all the trimmings if you fancy it. Just be aware that Sticky only serves Sunday lunch, popping in after lunch hours will cause you to go hungry and probably a little disappointed.

Piper Hoole – 1 course £9.95, 2 courses 12.95, 3 courses 15.95
This family friendly pub serves up a vast selection to choose from for your Sunday munches, along with an ever rotating array of cask ales. You can choose between roast topside of beef, the crown of turkey or a leg of lamb served with creamy mash potato, crisp roast potatoes, a vegetable selection and a jug of gravy. Those with a smaller appetite are also looked after with a smaller version of the roast for a mere £7.95.
