If someone hosted a “Prosecco and Pizza” themed event with an added bonus of getting to know a seriously sleek make-up brand, you’d be pretty excited, right? Right! So was I.
The Red Door is amazingly elegant venue with a cocktail list to die for, so when I heard they were hosting this rather girly event presenting Urban Decay make-up I jumped at the chance and booked myself right in the action without a beat. The “Prosecco and Pizza” theme for the night didn’t hurt either, I’ll admit.
On Thursday I clicked my little red heels together and found myself in the Red Door cocktail cave sipping some super sparkly prosecco and trying to munch down a tasty slice of pizza in a civilized fashion (which, as it turns out is a lot harder than it sounds).
The three ladies, Amy, Emma and Anne, from the UD counter at Debenhams in Chester worked their magic on the crowds of bubbly-supping ladies and introduced some of the pretty fabulous products they had in their arsenal.
I’m the kind of girl who has to be able to fiddle with every single product before I commit to buy it and luckily, the night was all about the aforementioned fiddling and exploring the new and classic UD goodies while brushing up our knowledge of the brand. By the end of the night I swear I was glittering so much, in so many different tones, anyone would have suspected I was radioactive!
But it was totally worth it. I was getting rather fond of the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder which felt like satin on my skin, and the De-Slick mattifying powder made the oily patch on my t-zone disappear like magic. I heard a lot about the Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray but this never passed through my table, which is a shame because it sounds like something I would definitely invest in.
I also fiddled with so many different eyeshadows I think I lost count half way through the night. And something that I definitely will be looking to get my grabby little hands on is the Mega Matte Vice Lipstick in the reddest of reds!
Obviously, fiddling with the products is not exactly the same as using them, so what I did was book myself in for a session with the ladies on Saturday morning, conveniently a few hours before I am to attend a wedding where hubby is to be a groomsman. If the makeup stays in tip top condition through a day of frolicking in the sun and stuffing my face with cake, it’s a keeper. Stay tuned, I shall report back.
